UAS Drone Pilot / Part 107
Hover ATX is building our Part 107 pilot bench in the Austin metro area. We're an early-stage operation — recruiting certified UAS pilots now so we have the right people ready as job volume ramps. Contract work, flexible schedule, honest about where we're at.
The Work
What You'll Do
- Execute UAS flight operations over residential or commercial rooftops per assigned job orders
- Capture standardized aerial photos and video per our shot protocol (nadir, oblique, perimeter passes)
- Upload all deliverables same-day via our pilot portal — no editing required
- Typical mission: 15-20 minutes on-site, then you're done
- Confirm airspace authorization (B4UFLY / LAANC) and log each flight per Part 107 requirements
Requirements
What You Need
- Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate — no exceptions
- Your own UAS (DJI Mini 3 Pro minimum — 48MP+, 4K video)
- Hull or liability insurance ($1M minimum) or willingness to obtain prior to first flight
- Comfortable with LAANC / B4UFLY airspace authorization in Austin airspace
- Reliable vehicle for on-site travel across the Austin metro
- Flexible availability — jobs coordinated with 24-48 hours notice

Honest note: we're early. Expect occasional jobs to start, not steady shifts. We'd rather have the right pilots on our bench than oversell the volume.
What This Role Is Not
We are not roofers, inspectors, or insurance adjusters — and neither are you in this role. Your job is to fly, capture, and deliver aerial documentation. No on-roof access. No damage assessment. No client-facing interaction beyond confirming site access. Pure UAS operations.
